The results of this study indicate that the contribution of the variable X to Y based on R square in the ANOVA table of the simple linear regression test is 9.5 which is rounded up to 10. Data analysis in this study used several techniques in the form of preliminary analysis, improvement analysis, analysis, prerequisite test, linearity test, and hypothesis testing with the help of SPSS. Processing data in this study using Likert Scale. Test the validity and reliability of this research instrument using the Pearson product moment and Alpha Cronbach methods with the help of SPSS.
The theory used in this study was the theory of media effects, namely the syringe theory developed by Harold Laswell. Where, the researcher tested the selected respondents to see their tolerant attitude before and after watching the movie Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. The research method taken in this case is a pre-experimental quantitative approach with pre-test and post-test designs. The respondents watched the Movie Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 and filled out questionnaires before and after watching the Movie to determine the existence of an influence on attitudes of religious tolerance. Where, the authors make a sample of the entire population of members of Radio Book Yogyakarta as respondents in this study. The purpose of this study was to determine the existence of the effect resulting from watching the Movie Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2 on the religious tolerant attitude of members of the Yogyakarta Book Radio community. The community members that will be the object of the trial are the Radio Book community in Yogyakarta. The movie that aired in 2017 is interesting to test it’s influence on members of a group or community. One of the movies that has a message of religious tolerance is the movie Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2. Religious tolerance is an attitude that gives respect, and freedom to fellow human beings regardless of their background. One of them is the attitude of religious tolerance. Movie has the potential to change attitudes towards its audience. In Da'wah science, movies are also seen as a means to convey Da'wah messages to mad'u. In the study of mass communication, movies are seen from the point of view of communicators who carry messages to influence the communicant in the theory of syringes. Movie is a viewing medium that has the potential to influence the attitudes and behavior of the audience.
